Product Description
The classic books on a timeless subject -- for a new generation. In 1975, Alona Frankel wrote and illustrated her first book, especially for her son Michael, on how to use the potty. Thirty-two years later, Once Upon a Potty -- Boy and Once Upon a Potty -- Girl are the classic books on potty training and have sold more than four million copies worldwide. These children's books help parents everywhere deal successfully with an often vexing challenge for the whole family. Thanks to their timeless words and beloved images, Once Upon a Potty -- Boy and Once Upon a Potty -- Girl are being discovered and used by a new generation of parents. These two books, with their phenomenal staying power, target and meet the needs of an obviously perpetual market.

 | Perfect. Jan 16, 2009 |
| My daughter LOVES this book. She identifies with Prudence and finds a sweet camaraderie in potty training with her. I was put off at first by some of the aspects other reviewers got hung up on, but realize now that it's just what my little one needed: clear description, light-hearted humor, gentle encouragement, and a sister potty trainer. | | | | One of the Best Jan 10, 2009 |
This one of the best introduction to potty training books out there. I did not give it 5 stars for the following reasons: 1. The potty chair in the book looks like a jug with a handle on it. It looks nothing like the potty chairs on the market. 2. The book shows the potty chair being misused as other things, and I don't want to give my child any ideas. However, the book does say, "No." The potty chair isn't for those purposes. 3. There is a page where she misses the potty and accidentally pees and poops on the floor. Again, I don't want to give my child any ideas, although I know the purpose was to show that accidents will occur.
Comparably speaking, this book is one of the best, and I've read LOTS of potty books. It was worth my money.
The DVD is even better. The potty chair actually looks like a potty chair, and it is clear in the DVD the potty chair should not be used for other purposes. The DVD also includes both parents whereas the book only has a mommy.
I recommend buying the book and especially the DVD. | | | | A classic for a reason Jan 7, 2009 |
| This book remains a beautiful jumping off point for potty training you little one. Our daughter loves it! If you're looking for scientific names, however, you're not going to find them here. However, it is a direct and gentle book. | | | | helpful book Aug 29, 2008 |
This book was helpful in teaching my almost two year old what the potty was for. She loved the book.
